We present our CSA Study Skills Course at schools, in classrooms allocated by a school. Our two-hour classes start after school and usually end at 16:30.

No classes over weekends!

The course curriculum is divided into 24 classes presented over a full year with a minimum of two classes per month, school holidays excluded.

TUTORS

The CSA Study Skills Course is presented by our own specially trained tutors who adore children and just love having fun in class. If you are interested in being trained as a CSA tutor, please refer to Tutor training below.

TO PARENTS

Our aim is to work with learners and their parents as a team. We therefore continually strive to maintain contact with parents and foster good communication. Please contact us if you would like your son or daughter to attend our course.

TO SCHOOLS

We always work with a school and in accordance with its ethos, plans and expectations. Please contact us if you would like us to present our course at your school.

FURTHERMORE...

In grade 9 learners have to choose their subjects for grades 10 to 12. To help learners with this, schools often request a suitably qualified tester* to conduct the DAT Form S battery of aptitude tests. The individual report each learner receives identifies the learner’s aptitudes and guides the learner to choose subjects he or she has the aptitude for.

These tests are quite expensive and many schools just cannot afford to have all the learners in Grade 8 or 9 tested. Parents, too, find it difficult to scrape together the extra R1000+ it may cost to have learners tested individually.

As part of our social responsibility program, CSA is willing to sponsor these tests. Certain terms and conditions do, however, apply. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in this sponsorship. We’ll gladly provide the necessary information for discussion with the governing body of your school and to help you make an informed choice.

*A suitably qualified tester is either a psychometrist or educational psychologist in private practice registered as such with the Health Professions Council of South Africa

 

MORE ABOUT OUR COURSE

As far as we know, we are the only institution giving two 2-hour classes per month over twelve months. During the first half of each class we teach a specific skill and during the second half learners have to apply the skill to any subject. Regarding the cost, we are both thankful and proud to say that our course is relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of similar courses presented by other companies or individuals.

Apart from our course, we also offer enrolled learners the opportunity to acquire our unique CAPS-based audio-visual mathematics DVD explaining the work from grade 4 to grade 12.
